Dairy research aims to improve animal well-being, dairy farm sustainability, dairy cattle genetics and genomics and learn about the nutritional value of milk products.

Dairy Farmers of Canada invests up to $1.7 million per year in human health and nutrition and dairy research in Canada. It administers and funds various research programs on a cost-sharing basis to encourage the industry to invest in research and development. Research is funded in partnership with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council.
